Cuba is among the most exciting islands in the caribbean. Whereas other islands have one or two major attractions: the beach, say, and perhaps one or two historic monuments.
Cuba has just about everything you could imagine.
There are dramatic mountainous landscapes, wild and unspoilt valleys, sweeping vistas of sugar cane, tobacco plantations glowing emerald green against the vermilion earth of the fields, seven exquisite cities dating from the mid-fifteenth century, an amazing variety of flora and fauna, some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and above all, Cuba’s greatest asset: her people. We are (though we say it ourselves) welcoming, enthusiastic, polite and alot of fun – and that’s putting it mildly.
The official language of Cuba is Spanish and the vast majority of Cubans speak it. Spanish as spoken in Cuba is known as Cuban Spanish and is a form of Caribbean Spanish.
The peso is one of two official currencies in use in Cuba, the other being the convertible peso. There are currently 25 CUP per CUC.
